The place
The hotel sits above the village of Arda, in the Western Rhodopes. Two kilometres away is the source of the river — an hour on foot along a forest path.
Sixteen places lie within a day’s reach: caves millions of years old, sixth-century fortresses, waterfalls, summits with ancient sanctuaries, and viewpoints built by the villagers themselves.
